Favorite Tool: OBD2 Car Code Reader. I’m not a big car guy but being able to read engine codes has saved some trips to the mechanic.
Favorite DIY Project: I like to repair appliances/electronics instead of buying new ones. I really enjoyed being able to fix my washing machine a few times with very inexpensive parts.
Why I got involved with NEPTL: A sharing economy sounded very cool and being hyper local and community based made it even more attractive. I started off helping with the newsletter in 2012 and loved being able to walk to the library and talk with people who were welcoming and generous with their knowledge.
My Background: I came from California in 2008 and was very enamored with the bike culture and friendly vibes of Portland. For my day job I work at an animal shelter and cats are my specialty. I have a degree in Film that I don’t do anything with except watch a lot of movies and have (often annoying) opinions about them. I was the Volunteer Coordinator for many years before we had a staff person to help with that so I am very appreciative of our volunteers!
