Favorite Tool: Cordless miter saw
Favorite DIY project: Turning a small bedroom in my old house into a cedar-walled closet. Smells amazing.
Why I wanted to get involved: I believe helping people maintain their homes affordably helps retain the original character of neighborhoods, keeps demolitions down, and fights the erasure of our cultural hubs. It’s social justice.
My background: I’m a grant writer for nonprofit organizations and specialize in Arts and Culture, Land, and Historic Preservation. I took hands-on preservation courses that challenged me to learn skills out of my comfort zone and helped me get over my fear of saws. I have an old house that I’m fixing up room by room, learning along the way. I have a big, black dog and a son away at college. Just the son. Not the dog.
