Favorite Tool:
Cordless drill — it’s the one I reach for most, and it makes a pretty satisfying noise.
Favorite DIY Project:
I recently made a coat rack using reclaimed wood. It really ties my living room together, and it was fun getting my kid involved in the process.
Why I Got Involved with NEPTL:
Community is huge for me. After moving back to Portland and working in SE, I felt disconnected from my own neighborhood. Since joining NEPTL, I feel like a local celebrity walking through the dog park or grabbing lunch on Alberta St. I love seeing familiar faces, and our volunteers are truly incredible and some of the coolest people I know.
NEPTL is such an amazing concept and resource for the community. I remember hearing about it back when I was in college, so I feel lucky to now help carry the NEPTL torch.
My Background:
I’m originally from the upper Hood River Valley, where I grew up on a working pear orchard. I graduated from PSU with a degree in Environmental Science focused on food systems, and I’ve spent my career in both the service industry and the nonprofit world. I’ve worked in hotels and restaurants, completed a stint with AmeriCorps running sustainable agriculture camps for kids, and worked for the Gorge Grown Food Network supporting local farmers’ markets. My background reflects my passion for community, sustainability, and creating welcoming spaces.
